Clive has been racing his bike for as long as anyone can remember. Formerly a DH and Dual Slalom racer in the late '80's and '90's he now focuses on Enduro DH events all over Europe. He's been there, done it, and had the t-shirt (which probably had his ugly mug printed on it!) Always in amongst the action, often in trouble, and usually at the sharp-end of anything we get involved in. Clive is a dynamic force within extreme endurance and a key member of the team.

Rich is a relative newcomer to the race scene but he’s no stranger to the finer things in life. Bikes have been in his blood for as long as he can remember, (whatever the shape of the bars!) and he used to surf competitively. After several years living the travelling surf / bike bum lifestyle in some of the best spots in the world, Rich returned to the UK with plenty of miles in his legs. He’s always enjoyed big distances and soon realised that his favourite type of rides, (Really Long Ones) has become one of the dominant formats in mountain bike racing. If it’s rocky, technical and hairy, then that’s even better! Rich is really enjoying getting stuck into the race scene and spending time with riders who are as passionate about endurance riding as he is.

Josh began racing in 2002 after being inspired by watching the Commonwealth games in Manchester. Initially he took part in local races at Thetford forest but soon became hooked after participating in his first national race in 2003. As a junior he was selected to be part of the British Cycling Talent Team and began becoming a regular fixture in the top 10 of National XC events as well as broadening his horizons and racing the Road and Enduro events. However in his second season as a junior he had health problems relating to overtraining and consequently lost the best part of 2 seasons recovering. Since then he has turned his attention to Enduro events and has had some promising results. For the 2009 season he hopes to master riding 12h events and begin to take on the top guys in the country as well as experimenting with his first 24h race.

2 x 24 Solo finishes - CLIC 24 Charity Event
Went home in ambulance - Bontrager Twentyfour12 '07

Dave has always been sporty, but not into such sports that needed such mental power and attention to detail. After a bad paragliding accident in 2003 and subsequent weight gain, he decided to do something about it. He had been riding mountainbikes for a bit with his mates, and started to get quite fit, and lose some of his Couch potato shaping; so he entered Clic24, 24hr ride for charity, and came 3rd with 170mile of riding.

As an ex motocross and road racer (2stroke) Dave likes his riding to be hard on the body. The more gnarly, the better. Bikes are built for gnarl! Give him a tech fest any day!

After Clic his mind was made up. Structured training and a lifestyle change were all that were needed. The next year, 2006, he came 2nd at Clic with 220miles under his belt. He also tried, foolishly, to do 3 "proper" races that year for charity and ended up in hospital having surgery because of a chronic illness. He had a stressful job at then time, and none of the other races went well.

He got carted off to hospital in 2007 at Twentyfour12 with hyponatraemia, and this was an exercise in the stupidity gaine through inexperience. The job was changed to reduce stresses.

Now firm friends with the IronHorse-Extreme team (and 2 ½ stone lighter), he started picking up bits of information and using it… 4th place this year (2008) in Twentyfour12. Dave's aims are to keep up with Clive on the downhill, keep up with Rob and James on the ups, and be as laid back as Rich everywhere else. Oh, and win some races on an IronHorse.
