Rob's Ltd Edition IronHorse Azure World Cup
First up on our new kit pages we have the 2008 team issue bike for Team Manager and endurance racer Rob Lee. This bike is the bike he used to break the South Downs Double record in May this season.
Built around the race proven IronHorse Azure frame things are off to a great start. Rob has a really short torso for someone his height so has to ride a real short top-tube with a load of seatpost showing which is a position that allows him a lot of body movement whilst descending. The Azure is the perfect xc frame offering 100mm travel through the DW link system. Complete bike weighs in at 26lb but can be built lighter; Rob prefers his bikes to be in the 26-27lb range, as he feels they cope better with his style of riding, but we have built them a good few pounds lighter for some of our riders.
Rob is Sponsored by Hope so both his race bikes are equiped with a full compliment of Hope "Pro-rider-only" green anodised components. Rob's been a fan of Hope for a long time now so was fully stoked when they agreed to sonsor him this season. His bikes are kitted out with Hope Hoops - straight pull spoke hubs on DT rims, skewers, Mono Mini Pro brakes, Stem, headset, ceramic bottom brackets and seat collars.
Looking at the cockpit here you will also see a U.S.E Exposure light and GPS system. Exposure are the official light sponsor of IronHorse Extreme as well as having been a component sponsor to Rob personally for a couple of seasons now (This bike also features a limited edition USE saddle and Sumo seatpost that is custom etched with Robs name and the team logo) This year the team are using the Exposure Enduro MaXx and the Joystick MaXx in custom camo green with laser etched team logos. The gps was on loan from Neil Newell, who was the previous holder of the South Downs Double record, and used to track Robs position during his record-breaking attempt
